B7-HT HIGH-TEMPERATURE FAST-NEUTRON DIAMOND DETECTOR
Temperature resistant
The B7-HT High-Temperature Fast-Neutron Diamond Detector has been developed for the measurement of fast neutrons in hot environments and confined spaces. For the calibration of the detector with alpha particles, an aperture is foreseen on the rear side of the detector. The detector fits into rods of 1/2 inch in diameter.
FEATURES
Sensor material:
sCVD diamond
Active volume:
4 mm x 4 mm x 0.5 mm
Neutron energy range:
En > 1 MeV
Perimeter:
1/2 inch in diameter
Maximum operating temperature:
200°C
ADDITIONAL PRODUCT INFORMATION
The detector response function to a PuBe fast neutron source, measured at different ambient temperatures is shown in the figure. The measurement was performed at the Atominstitut of TU Wien, with a high-temperature compatible neutron source.

The cut-off energy for neutron elastic scattering is visible at 2.2 MeV. Contributions from 12C(n,α) give a characteristic shoulder at 3-5 MeV deposited energy. The response of the detector is not influenced by the temperature. Even at 200°C the characteristic structures remain identical.
