ADDITIONAL PRODUCT INFORMATION

The CxL-100 Spectroscopic Amplifier provides a highly symmetric Gaussian pulse shape with 100 ns FWHM and 60 ns peaking time.
The amplifier has a gain of 5 mV/fC, which is adequate for the input and output ranges encountered in fusion neutron diagnostics with diamond detectors.
It is a low-noise device with a noise figure of σe- = (380 + 12/pF) electrons.

The CxL-100 Spectroscopic Amplifier is an inverting, bipolar device with an input range of ±200 fC, corresponding to 16 MeV deposited energy in diamond.
The amplifier is protected against sparks by a dedicated double input protection system DIPS™.
The linear output range is ±1 V, and the output impedance of the CxL-100 Spectroscopic Amplifier is 50 Ω.

The capacitive load at the input of the amplifier has an impact on the resolution of the measurement. The rms noise contribution for particle spectroscopy as a function of the capacitive input load is shown on the left.
With an input capacitance of 1 nF, the noise contribution of the CxL-100 is about 1e4 electrons. Depending on the acceptable noise contribution of the amplifier a maximum input capacitive load is to be specified, from which the acceptable detector cable length is derived for the measurement setup.
